My doctoral research is in recognizing pipe organ stops (huh?) in audio recordings.
Status
I will post news from time to time on this feed.
I'm in the thick of writing my dissertation now. I have employment which will start in just over a month and so you can imagine I'm sprinting to get the writing finished before then lest I end up as an eternal ABD.
In summary my results are: Pipe organ stops can be recognized by machine learning using only the harmonic spectrum, but it's limited to stops in isolation.
